What I have been up to!

I feel like I have been away from blog land for such a long time. I have been so busy with such a vast range of things. Anyway, I have put together a few photos which show some of what I have been up to...

Our last Girls Night Out was last Wednesday night. It was a Candlelight High Tea with the most impressive entertainment. Here is us setting up and obsessing over the details. Don't miss the next one...only $12 for all this! The food was divine and was single handily made by one of my friends who loves cooking.

Here is a painting I picked up today for $6. I hope I can find the perfect place for it and I love yellow, mint and blue at the moment. Stay tuned for a massive shop update soon! By soon I mean next week...fingers crossed everything comes together and the weather permits.

My parents arrived back from a trip to England and Scotland. They brought me back this Victorian cup and saucer which is gorgeous. My father's family live there and it is always lovely to receive something that reminds me of them.

And you know what my husband is up to....trestles, benches, custom made planter boxes, kitchen tables...the list (and the work) goes on and on. It is such a pleasure to see someone find a piece of furniture from our shop which is perfect for their house. To see a ladies face light up makes it all worth while.

A Magical Performer Arrives @ GNO

I met the most gorgeous girl in Cairns, Celine DeeAz. You can check her out on My Space or http://www.celinedeeaz.com/. She sings like Celine Dion, plays the viola and is just magical to watch. I am flying her down to perform at our next GIRLS NIGH OUT, Wednesday October 13th - 7.30pm @ 240 Stafford Rd, Stafford. We will be catering a Candlelight High Tea...promised to be divine. It's only $12 per ticket, so get on board ladies for a night out that you will be glad you made the effort to get out to! I only have 20 tickets left, and a few places at my table if anyone is interested.

I'm Back!

I have to apologise for not blogging last week. I unexpectedly had to go away to the Gold Coast for the week! I know...hard to take! What started out as a working trip ended up as a beautiful little holiday. We stayed at the Q1 on the 67 floor thanks to a friend on my family who owns the unit. The views were amazing!!! We actually watched the helicopters pass under us!

Since I have been away there is so much news...

My best friend has met a great man and they are 'talking marriage'. She moved to America for work a few years ago and although I will miss her I am really excited for her. I can't wait to get the official news! I feel as excited as the mother of the bride and really need to settle down. I am looking at chair covers in anticipation of the big event (I love chair covers at weddings!)...

We had another Girls Night Out Event which was fabulous! The theme was fashion and make up....and a little cake thrown in for good measure! Thanks to Kelli from Boucher Boutiques and Gorgeous Cosmetics for making the night such a success!

And Divine Find's trestle tables will be featured in the Mad Hatter's photo shoot....more to come on that when I get the details!
Hope everyone has had a wonderful week. Look forward to catching up with everyone again.

The Shop and Girls Night Out

My day at the shop was delightful. I met some lovely ladies, casually strolling around with their coffees, enjoying some time out of the cold! I thought I'd post some pics of some of the new items I brought into the shop today.

Here is our very last 'low' coffee table. It is about 120cm square, a lovely size and shape. This one has a slightly rustic finish and is off white.

This vintage kitchen table has history in its paintwork. It would make a great office work bench and has a lot of character.

These set of three travel cases were originally purchased from England and are a very cute set. At only between $10 and $15 each they are a real bargain. From memory they are lined with velvet.
More from the shop tomorrow.

PS...We have another GIRLS NIGHT OUT event coming up next Wednesday night, 7th. Our guest speaker is Kelli from Boucher Boutique. She is GORGEOUS and her business is personal styling, hair and makeup. She will be conducting an hour workshop on how to use colour is your wardrobe. Her presentation will be accompanied by a range of make up workshops by both Kelli, Napoleon and Gorgeous Make Up. These great speakers, combined with great food, giveaways galore and eight local business' stalls can be enjoyed for only $10. Contact me to book your ticket if you would like to attend.

What an AWESOME night! The Girls Night Out update...

I thought I'd let these photos tell the story....

70 EXCITED ladies (and one pregnant one!) arrived ready to shop until they dropped.

But before they got started everyone enjoyed coffee and cake @ the WAC's coffee shop. Rumour has it that the orange and almond cake is to die for!
A special mention has to be made to Kimmy Dee who contributed a great giveaway of a $220 vintage dress from her shop Skirts Like These! Thanks also to Meisha from Pin Up Parlour who gave away some great hair accessories packs and all the other dealers who donated something for the night.

Thanks to the WAC's masterminds Megan and Sarah-Jane for allowing Girls Night Out to come to the Woolloongabba Antique Centre. They did an incredible amount of overtime to make this night a success. Here are the glamorous pair looking gorgeous as usual!
A big thank you to interior designer Bronnie Masefau for passing on her enthusiasm and passion for all things vintage. If you are looking for an interior designer LOOK NO FURTHER, Bronnie has to be one of the most experienced designers I know and you won't find anyone more lovely to work with. I have a few more of Bronnie's books Australia Vintage Living in my shop if you missed out on the night.
Thank you to everyone who (after a long day at work) came out in the cold again to join us. It was such a pleasure to meet everyone! I personally found the night so personable and relaxed. I think it was a real de-stressor for many women and I am so glad everyone enjoyed themselves so much. A special thanks to Lou from Vintage by Lou Lou, Katherine from The Old Boat House and Sandy from Sandy's Place for coming along and offering their support.
This is my little shop - Divine Finds. Thank you for everyone's beautiful comments and appreciation of my shop space. Thank you to everyone who treated themselves to a special something from my shop on the night. I really hope everyone enjoyed their purchases, especially Bronnie's mum who took home that Outdoor Trestle Table and bench seat!! (She made my day!!!)

Girls Night Out

It's 11.30pm and I have just got in from our Girls Night Out @ Woolloongabba. I must blog because it was such an incredible night and I have to tell someone!!! I feel like I am on a shopping high!!! I have been surrounded by women finding 'treasures' for their home. The energy and excitement was amazing. I found an absolute bargain glass cookie jar for $18! Thank you to all the ladies who brought trestle tables for their office desks or outdoor settings. Hubbie is getting to work on them tomorrow. Pictures coming soon but Vintage by Lou has blogged some already.

A Sneak Peak for Girls Night Out

There is one more sleep until Girls Night Out and believe it or not I still have laryngitis! I'm in bed eating loads of chicken soup and praying to God I'm going to be able to speak tomorrow! I thought I'd do something constructive and post a few pictures of a lovely cane piece that will be available tomorrow night. I really love this piece and hope it goes to a great home. See everyone tomorrow...with or without a voice!

Thanks to Style Magazine

YES...with two weeks to go 'Girls Night Out' is totally SOLD OUT.

I really wanted to thank Style Magazine for their recent coverage of Divine Find's FIRST exclusive shopping event. In fact, thanks to all the great media coverage that has gone into making the event a success. I hear 97.3fm are covering it this week which will be awesome.

Luckily we have been able to secure Bronnie Masefau (interior designer and author of Australian Living Vintage) for another showing of the event - Tuesday 18th. If anyone missed out, please feel free to contact me to book as tickets are selling quickly.

I look forward to posting some pictures of the gift bags, giveaways and stock exclusive to the night.
