Family Gatherings

As a family we always try to get together over Easter and spend some time together. This year I am the host of our family's Easter gathering. My cupboards are stocked up with every kind of Easter Egg imaginable to ensure I don't disappoint the cousins arriving at Auntie Shelley's house. The roar of all our children, hyped on sugar, playing madly after dinner, is sure to be fun!

I brought these tablecloths a few weeks ago and I have been looking for an excuse to use them. They are going to be the basis of my untraditional table decor. I am not sure if I can use both, but I will try! I will post some picks when I am done!

Wishing everyone a happy Easter! God Bless. Michelle

Totally attached!

Is it just me or do you often get ridiculously attached to pieces of furniture? I finally parted with my children's first bed today. My kids are now 11 and 8years old and grew out of it a LONG TIME AGO!!! It has been collecting dust in the garage for many years but I just couldn't part with it. Each time I looked at it I could see my cute toddlers reading stories in it. Thank you to its beautiful new owners who made parting with it so easy. It was nice to see some one's face light up at the prospect of adopting a new piece of furniture into their house! Vintage makes children's rooms so special. I recently stumbled upon these gorgeous vintage pics that would look great framed in a nursery or toddlers room. I particularly like the one of the little girl hanging out the washing!

Vintage Cane

I am really enjoying the challenge of finding vintage split cane. It takes a bit of hunting for, as so much of it has been exposed to the elements and as a result is now damaged, but is well worth the effort. Here are some photos of the split cane we have had in the shop this week.

1930s Chesterfield Lounge

I am totally in love with this 1930s Chesterfield Lounge, which has been recently upholstered in Sanderson fabric. It has come from the Gatton Estate in Toowoomba and I refused to leave without it. Wouldn't it look great with any oversized piece of art behind it? This item is for private sale so if you are interested please give me an email.

The Beginning

My husband and I have been re-decorating our home for at least three years now! What started out as a simple, "Let's re-decorate!" has turned into an obsession for all things homewares. We found ourselves shopping together every possible moment, hunting for beautiful things at antique auctions, markets and beautiful design shops. Our hobbie has slowly evolved and turned into something more. That "something more" is a little vintage store called Divine Finds, located in the Woolloongabba Antique Centre. Divine Finds stocks homewares that we would love to have in our own home (but no longer have the room)! We specialise in one-off pieces that would compliment any vintage, shabby or french style interior. Here are some photos of our shop in the first few weeks of its opening...
